Discovery Learning

On Friday morning we started our Discovery Learning sessions.

These might seem like play to the children and hopefully they are good fun, but they are also an excellent way to cover and explain the Key Competencies with junior children.

Last week we were looking at the Key Competency – Relating to Others.

This as the name would suggest includes such things as:

Sharing, taking turns, cooperating, asking to join in, including

others, handling conflict, helping & supporting others, respecting others, establishing relationships.

 

As you can see these are all things we value in our classrooms and are important to establish at this time of year.
